Awesome Training
I work for the NYE County Sheriff's in Nevada. I attended a class put on by Dave Acosta and Rick Hernandez from LVMPD. The class was more informative than any I have ever attended before. Usually you go to class just get off teh street for a day and relax. But this class had my attention span to its fullest. Thanks to NFOST and all personnel sharing the experiences. Motivated to make changes that will save her life
I enjoyed the class on June 25, 2004 in Carson City so much. I find that quite a few of the people that I work with have become very comfortable in their job and have let their mind and body go. I have made a promise to myself, my family and my friends that I will strive to be the best that I can be physically and mentally. The NFOST class was very motivational and inspirational in that I took a good look at myself and know that I am not as physically and mentally fit as I can be. I will spread your message to my partners and tell everyone about the upcoming August training in Reno.

"..think hard about how you train"
I just wanted to tell you how great the NFOST class was. It is great BLM had Dave in as a trainer in our annual In-service. The training is progressive, positive and will make you think hard about how you train, how you work and how you do your job!!!
Dave has gone out of his way to learn about us in the BLM and how we do our jobs and how we survive in the outback!!! Our mouths (how we communicate with bad guys because we are alone), officer presence and picking and choosing our contacts when we can.

Officer Survival, Sacramento CA "truly impressive"
With our changing times and the fact that law enforcement officers are encountering less and less respect from the public acknowledging our authority or even challenging it, this training has become essential. NFOST has created a program that is going to save someone's life, maybe even my own or my fellow officers. I just wish I could have had this training 28 years ago, but it's here now and we must take advantage of what it has to offer, saving our lives. We all will greatly benefit from the NFOST "Officers' Survival Training". This course is truly impressive.

Officer Survival "We all have the same goals..."
I really apprecaite the training session you provided for us in Arizona. It's great to have squared away officers providing quality "real life" training. I know us desert cops may do things a little different from the average metro cop, but we're all still comrades at arms with the same goals: 1) Put the bad guys in jail, and 2) Go home at night to our families AND 3) have fun doing it (not optional!). Thanks again, and stay safe.
Anyone out there (not from the BLM) considering some NFOST training, go for it! Acosta is building up a great organization.

Just missed you in Camp Williams this week, but heard you gave another great class. I was in your class for the first week this year....way back in March. Dave the class is still sticking with me after nearly two months, extremely powerful stuff. SLC Camp Williams "invaluable session"

I Just wanted to add another Thank You!!!! for bringing your guys to help out as roll players in the DT portion at Camp Williams. They all did a great job and had teriffic attitudes during the long days in the redman suits. All of you helped to make this a much better training session for all of us. "Powerful class"
Hey thanks again for a powerful class, this stuff will stick with me for quite some time which isn't a bad thing at all. I passed your brochures onto some of my U.S. Forest Service buddies who have in the past used Caliber Press. They were impressed on what they read and what I had to say. Also passed one onto a Shasta County Deputy buddy in N.E California. This guy was "REAL IMPRESSED" looking at not only what he can get, but what he can provide to your program. This guy is a hard trainer and worker, he's on their SWAT team, FTO, and a K-9 handler and big into defensive tactics via martial arts and he likes to teach so I'm sure you will be hearing from in the not to distant future. Might need some more brochures.

Great class! I was in attendance on the 4th of March, allow me to say I enjoyed it very much. There was a lot of information to soak in. I especially enjoyed the heroic survival stories as well. Makes for some great relief that it's very possible to survive in the most extreme conditions. I'd like to see you guys come back some time soon, and get an opportunity to attend the three day coarse. Invaluable training for us, thank you for your time and generosity for conducting these classes. Once again, enjoyed the 4 hour class, enjoyed the survival experiences.

Officer survival class SLC/Camp Williams Thanks for the outstanding training! You've got a great thing started and are doing it RIGHT.I have been through countless training sessions over the last 8 1/2 years and yours was by far the best. My only regret is that it was only four hours. If I ever get the opportunity to attend one of the three day classes, I will be there. Regardless of whether you work the dirt or the street, the information you present is invaluable and the presentation is first rate. I can not speak highly enough about the class. The lessons learned WILL stay with me throughout my career. I feel that your class is a must for anyone with a badge.
